Yay or Nay: Wedges

If you haven't seen any wedges yet, well... I don't know where you've been hiding all this time! But we're going to educate you a little.

According to Wikipedia:
Wedge boots or wedgies are boots with a sole in the form of a wedge so that one piece of material, normally rubber, serves as both the sole and the heel. Wedge boots are more common for women and often have a sole that is much thicker at the back than the front, making it a high-heel shoe or boot.

Here's a specimen:

Personally, I like wedges. They are really comfortable to walk in. Sometimes the look can either be outdated or just wayyy too much, especially when combined with platforms (think Lady Gaga. By the way, we're going to talk about platforms in another Yay or Nay post soon to come). But most times I think they really give an edgy look to an outfit, so for me it's a Yay.

What do you think about wedges? Yay or Nay?

  1. For me, it's a yay. They're much easier to walk in! They look good with skirts and pants and there is so many styles to choose from!

So yes, definitely a yay for me!

  2. I love a wedge! They have been around for so long now, that I don't think they are going to go anywhere. I am a fan!

  3. I really like wedges! They are definitely easier and more stable to walk in, especially in soft ground or grass. I am more a fan of chunky heels, though!

    Kristine. Or Polly.
