Tis The Season: Award Red Carpets Recap

The Academy Awards being the last major award event of the season, I thought I would do a little recap of the most beautiful dresses of the red carpets.

I notice one major trend: structure. Even dresses that tend to be a little more flowy have a structural item. They all have a distinct and solid shape, as if the ladies who wore them were the accessory, and the dress being the actual center of attention.

These are only a few of my favourites, please do share the ones you preferred. But mostly the ones you hated, because it's so much funnier. We all need to know that superstars also make bad fashion choices, like regular people (and yes I'm talking to you Golden Globes Emma Stone... !)

Natalie Portman at the Academy Awards
I like: the jewel colour and the way the dress subtly fits her belly

Mila Kunis at the Golden Globes
I like: the jewel tones and the shape

Olivia Wilde at the Golden Globes
I like: the princess look (although I would have styled the hair differently)

Eva Longoria at the Golden Globes
I love: the drama, the black and the brooch

Tina Fey at the SAG Awards
I like: the fabric and the fact that she wore colour for once!

Mila Kunis at the SAG Awards
I like: the lively pattern and the belt

Claire Danes at the SAG Awards
I like: the pattern and the overall shape

Nicole Kidman at the Grammy Awards
I like: the uncommon colours and red hair mix

Anne Hathaway at the Academy Awards
I like: the structure

Julianne Hough at the Grammy Awards
I like: everything.

Violette 6x30: Black and blue

Ten Items: Hearts

All right I know the timing is easy but I couldn't help it. I don't hate St.Valentine's Day nor do I love it - but I do think that one doesn't need to be told when to say I love you. And to buy chocolate, that goes without saying.

Here's to all the people who love each other, and not just mushy couples. Violette, I love you!

1. Tights - Topshop - $18
2. Earrings - F21 - $5
